• Use Arcadia's species lighting guide to choose the lamp type and distance for the animal's recommended UV Index (UVI). UVB percentage alone does not tell you the exposure at the basking position.
• Measure the working distance from the lamp to the animal's head or top of its shell at the basking position, rather than to the enclosure floor.
• Mesh, reflectors and mounting position affect the UVB reaching the animal. Check the guide's installation assumptions and, where available, measure the actual UVI at animal level.
• Provide a useful lit area alongside shade and hides so the animal can choose its exposure. Do not select a lamp solely from a Forest, Desert or ShadeDweller label.

• Disconnect the power before installation. Secure the fitting using the supplied mounting hardware and follow the ProT5 instructions for the chosen position.
• Check that the electrical supply matches the fitting label. Keep the fitting and connections dry; standard ProT5 is IP20 and is not waterproof.
• Fit the specified tube and reflector correctly, then establish the basking distance using the species guide before allowing access to the enclosure.
• Use the supplied link system only as permitted by the ProT5 instructions and fitting load limits. This is the standard ProT5 range, not an app-controlled LumenIZE fitting.
• Set the daily lighting period to suit the species and season, with access to shade throughout the lit period.

• Disconnect the power and allow the lamp and fitting to cool before handling. Remove dust with a dry cloth and keep the reflector clean.
• Follow Arcadia's 12-month UVB lamp replacement guidance. A lamp can still produce visible light after its useful UVB output has declined.
• Order a replacement tube matching the fitting's wattage and specified lamp type. The overall fitting length in the size guide is not the tube ordering length.
• Recheck the working distance and UVB setup after changing the lamp, reflector or enclosure layout. Dispose of fluorescent lamps through an appropriate lamp-recycling service.
