Open Cat Litter Tray – 50 cm

Give your cat a simple, comfortable and easily accessible toilet area with this 50 cm open cat litter tray. Its spacious rectangular design provides room for cats to enter, turn around, dig and cover their waste without the enclosed feeling of a covered litter box.

The tray has an open top and does not include a separate removable rim. This provides cats with a clear view of their surroundings and makes the tray easy to access, scoop and clean. It can be a practical choice for cats that dislike enclosed litter boxes, as well as kittens, older cats and cats that prefer an unobstructed entrance.

The gently raised sides help hold the litter inside during normal use, while the lower overall height makes it easier for cats to step in and out. Its smooth plastic construction is lightweight, durable and suitable for regular cleaning.

Available in green and coral, the tray offers a straightforward litter solution that works well in utility rooms, bathrooms, hallways and other suitable indoor areas.

Always check the tray against your cat’s size before purchasing. Your cat should have enough room to enter, turn around, dig and adopt a comfortable toileting position.

Larger or long-bodied cats may require a larger litter tray

How to use

Place the litter tray on a flat, stable and easily cleaned surface.

Fill it with a suitable cat litter according to the litter manufacturer’s instructions. Avoid overfilling the tray, as excess litter may be pushed over the sides when your cat digs.

Remove clumps and solid waste daily. Replace lost litter as required and complete a full litter change regularly based on the litter type, number of cats and frequency of use.

For multi-cat homes, provide enough litter trays to reduce competition and give each cat reliable access to a clean toileting area.

Cleaning and care

Empty the used litter into an appropriate waste container.

Wash the tray using warm water and a mild pet-safe cleaning product. Rinse thoroughly to remove any cleaning residue and allow the tray to dry completely before adding fresh litter.

Avoid heavily scented cleaning products, as strong unfamiliar fragrances may discourage some cats from using the tray.

Do not use abrasive tools that may scratch the plastic and create areas where dirt or odours can collect.

Safety and hygiene

Place the tray where it cannot slide, tip or create a trip hazard.

Inspect the plastic regularly and replace the tray if it becomes cracked, split, warped or develops sharp edges.

Wash your hands thoroughly after handling used litter or cleaning the tray.

Pregnant people and anyone with a weakened immune system should avoid handling soiled cat litter where possible or follow appropriate medical and hygiene guidance.

Keep the tray away from food-preparation areas and clean it separately from food bowls, kitchen utensils and household washing-up items.
