The Holistic Hound Dog Eared
Keep your pet’s ears clean, comfortable and fresh with The Holistic Hound Dog Eared. This natural herbal ear-care oil is designed for routine cleaning while helping maintain a healthy environment inside the ears.
Dog Eared combines lavender, mullein, St John’s wort and garlic in a soothing oil-based formula. The blend helps soften and lift everyday wax and debris while moisturising the delicate skin of the ear canal.
The formula also contains herbs traditionally used to discourage ear mites. However, suspected ear mites, infections or persistent irritation require professional veterinary assessment rather than routine cleaning alone.

A herbal oil blend containing:
- Lavender essential oil
- Mullein oil
- St John’s wort
- Garlic
Ingredient overview
Lavender essential oil is included in a carefully formulated amount to provide soothing support for the skin.
Mullein oil is traditionally used in herbal ear-care preparations to help soothe and moisturise delicate skin while supporting routine ear hygiene.
St John’s wort is traditionally used topically to support healthy, comfortable and well-moisturised skin.
Garlic is included for its traditional use in maintaining skin hygiene and supporting a clean ear environment.
Directions for use
Shake the bottle before use.
Apply up to five drops directly into each ear. Gently massage the base of the ear to help distribute the oil through the ear canal.
Alternatively, apply the drops to a clean cotton pad and gently squeeze the liquid into the ear canal.
When the ears are noticeably dirty or appear to be bothering your pet, the manufacturer recommends applying the product twice daily for up to three days.
For general routine cleaning, use once per month.
Always follow the directions printed on the physical product label where they differ.
Cleaning guidance
Allow your pet to shake its head after the oil has been massaged into the ear. This can help move softened wax and debris towards the outer ear.
Gently wipe away visible material from the ear flap and entrance using a clean cotton pad.
Do not push cotton buds or other objects deeply into the ear canal, as this can move debris further inside or damage the ear.
Use a separate clean pad for each ear to reduce the risk of transferring contamination.
When to seek veterinary advice
Dog Eared is intended for routine cleaning and care. It should not replace veterinary assessment where an ear condition may be present.
Contact a veterinary professional if your pet has:
- Persistent or severe head shaking
- Repeated scratching around the ears
- Significant redness or swelling
- Pain when the ear is touched
- Strong or unusual odour
- Yellow, green, bloody or excessive discharge
- Loss of balance or a head tilt
- A suspected foreign object inside the ear
- Suspected ear mites
- Symptoms that persist after three days
Do not apply the product where a damaged or perforated eardrum is known or suspected unless specifically directed by a veterinary professional.
Storage
Store securely in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat.
Keep the cap tightly closed and store the bottle out of reach of children and animals.
Do not use the product if the seal is damaged, the bottle is leaking or the contents appear contaminated.
