Arcadia EarthMix Arid is a 10L naturalistic substrate for arid and desert-style reptile or amphibian enclosures. The bioactive-ready mix includes organic material and volcanic rock to improve drainage while supporting live plants and suitable clean-up-crew species. Its texture allows digging, and tunnels may hold when the substrate is appropriately hydrated. Use it as part of a species-specific enclosure plan, balancing dry areas with any local moisture your animal requires.
Key Benefits
Create a planted desert-style habitat with a substrate suited to arid plants that need well-drained soil. Added volcanic material gives this blend greater drainage than the original EarthMix formulation.
EarthMix Arid supports the custodian species used in bioactive systems, with suitable clean-up crews able to be introduced from day one. Localised misting can create more humid areas while allowing the surrounding enclosure to remain drier.
When suitably hydrated, the substrate supports tunnel formation and can be used in egg-laying areas. Its texture also provides opportunities for digging and natural movement within a species-appropriate enclosure.
