The elevated surround acts as a splash and scatter guard, reducing the amount of litter that is kicked over the sides of the tray. A lowered front entrance makes stepping in and out easier than a fully high-sided tray, making it suitable for kittens, smaller cats and cats that may find a tall entrance difficult to navigate.
The open-top design allows plenty of airflow and gives owners a clear view of the tray, making it easier to monitor litter levels and identify when cleaning is required. Unlike a fully enclosed litter box, cats can enter and leave without passing through a flap or confined hood.
Made from smooth polypropylene plastic, the tray is lightweight, reusable and straightforward to clean. The simple interior provides fewer difficult corners for used litter to collect, helping make regular scooping and full litter changes more manageable. Matching versions of this tray use a removable high-sided upper surround attached to a lower base tray.

Size options
42 cm variant
Approximately 42 × 29 × 14 cm.
The smaller version is most suitable for kittens, smaller cats or homes where floor space is limited. Confirm that your cat has enough space to enter, turn around and toilet comfortably before purchasing.
50 cm variant
Approximately 50 × 35 × 22 cm.
The larger version provides additional floor space and higher surrounding sides, making it more suitable for adult cats or cats that dig enthusiastically and tend to scatter litter.
Material
Polypropylene plastic, commonly abbreviated as PP.
The smooth plastic construction can be wiped or rinsed during cleaning. Avoid abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the surface.
How to use
Place the tray on a level, stable and easily cleaned surface.
Add a suitable depth of cat litter according to the litter manufacturer’s directions. Avoid filling the tray so deeply that litter regularly spills through the lowered entrance.
Remove solid waste and clumps every day. Refill with clean litter as necessary to maintain an appropriate depth.
Empty and clean the entire tray regularly. Cleaning frequency will depend on the type of litter used, the number of cats using the tray and your cat’s individual habits.
Choosing the correct size
Your cat should be able to enter the tray easily, turn around comfortably, dig and adopt a natural toileting position without being restricted by the sides.
A 42 cm tray may be suitable for kittens and smaller cats, while the 50 cm version provides more room for many adult cats. Large or long-bodied cats may require a tray larger than either of these options.
Cleaning and care
Dispose of used litter according to the litter manufacturer’s instructions and local waste guidance.
Wash the tray using warm water and a mild pet-safe cleaning product. Rinse it thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before adding fresh litter.
Avoid strong fragrances, bleach residue or heavily scented cleaners, as some cats may avoid a tray that smells unfamiliar.
Clean the litter tray separately from kitchen utensils, food bowls and food-preparation equipment.
Safety and hygiene
Place the tray where it cannot tip, slide or obstruct a walkway.
Inspect the tray and removable surround regularly. Replace it if the plastic becomes cracked, sharp, warped or otherwise damaged.
Wash your hands thoroughly after handling used litter or cleaning the tray.
Pregnant people and individuals with weakened immune systems should avoid handling soiled cat litter where possible or follow suitable medical and hygiene guidance.
