Setup

• Use an appropriate depth for your tortoise: the supplier recommends approximately 5cm for young animals and 15cm or more for mature tortoises, with deeper areas for burrowing Russian tortoises.
• Provide a safe, stable enclosure with appropriate heat, UVB and ventilation.
• Keep the overall habitat suitable for the species; local damp areas can be maintained without waterlogging the substrate.

Maintenance & Safety

• Spot-clean daily. The supplier recommends full replacement approximately every two to three weeks in a conventional setup, or sooner if soiled.
• Bioactive care depends on the complete enclosure and maintenance system; the substrate alone does not establish a self-cleaning habitat.
• Store closed and dry. Wash hands after handling.
