Fat Ball Feeder – Approximately 22 cm

The open wire design holds suitable fat or suet balls while allowing birds to grip the outside of the feeder and feed through the openings.

It is ideal for offering high-energy fat balls during colder weather, although fat balls can also be provided throughout the year as part of a varied wild-bird feeding routine.

Remove any plastic or synthetic netting from fat balls before placing them inside the feeder. Netting can trap birds’ feet, legs or beaks and should never be hung outdoors.

Nut Feeder – Approximately 21 cm

The fine metal mesh is designed to hold whole or suitably sized peanuts while allowing birds to remove small pieces through the openings.

Using a proper mesh nut feeder helps reduce the risk of birds taking away large pieces of peanut. This is particularly important during the nesting season when adult birds may be feeding young chicks.

Only use fresh, unsalted peanuts specifically sold for wild birds. Never use salted, seasoned, roasted or mouldy nuts.

Seed Feeder – Approximately 21 cm

The seed feeder features a clear central chamber that makes the remaining food level easy to monitor. Feeding ports and small perches allow visiting birds to stop and access suitable free-flowing wild-bird seed.

It can be used with compatible seed mixtures and sunflower seed. Avoid wet, sticky or compacted foods that may block the feeding ports.

Fill the feeder with the appropriate type of fresh wild-bird food and close the lid securely.

Hang it from a strong branch, outdoor hook or bird-feeding station that can safely support the feeder when full. Ensure the hanging loop is properly positioned and cannot slide free.

Choose a location that gives birds a clear view of the surrounding area while keeping the feeder away from places where cats or other predators could hide.

Do not position the feeder directly above seating, vehicles, doorways or areas where falling food and waste may cause a problem.

Check the feeder regularly and refill it when required.

Only add an amount of food that is likely to remain fresh. Smaller, more frequent refills may be preferable during wet or humid weather.

Remove old, wet, compacted, mouldy or contaminated food immediately. Never add fresh food on top of spoiled food remaining at the bottom of the feeder.

Provide fresh, clean drinking and bathing water nearby where possible.

Clean the feeder regularly to help reduce the build-up of old food, droppings and other contamination.

Empty the feeder fully before cleaning. Remove the lid and any detachable components, then wash them using warm water and an appropriate wildlife-safe cleaning product.

Use a suitable feeder brush to reach inside the tube, mesh and feeding openings. Rinse every part thoroughly and allow the feeder to dry completely before adding fresh food.

Never refill a damp feeder, as trapped moisture may cause seed or nuts to spoil.

Clean feeding areas underneath the feeder and remove accumulated food and waste. Moving feeders periodically can help prevent excessive build-up in one location.

Inspect the hanging loop, lid, mesh, wire, plastic tube and feeding ports regularly.

Stop using the feeder if:

• The hanging attachment becomes loose or damaged
• Wire ends become exposed or sharp
• The plastic tube becomes cracked
• The lid no longer closes securely
• The feeder becomes heavily corroded
• Any component could trap or injure a bird
  

Mount securely and position away from locations where pets, children or wildlife could become trapped or injured.

These feeders are intended for outdoor wild-bird feeding and are not toys.
